Susan May Warren's books have a way of burrowing deep into your heart and soul and this first book in the new Global Search and Rescue series is another great example of her writing. Brimming with intensity and adrenaline of ice climbing, simmering romance, fear and anger with the past, and gentle voice of God's love, this story will have you holding on to the edge of your seat while crying with the characters' pain and joy.
* Interesting, well-developed characters. The shining star of this story was Hamilton Jones. Ham shares his faith naturally when his friends need it most. He impressed me in every scene!
* The early chapters with overwhelming details about Denali & mountain climbing weren‘t my thing, this book picked up speed halfway through.
* Disappointing amount of sensual content. If it weren‘t for that, this would get a solid recommendation from me.
"He should have never left Alaska...
The aloneness of Alaska allowed him to breathe, despite the stinging cold in his lungs. Allowed him to scream without anyone knowing."
