I really enjoyed this retelling. The Princess and the Pea has never been a favorite fairy tale of mine, so i wasn't sure I was going to like this book. But I did. I found myself drawn in, having to know what happened next and how it was going to end. I love the world this book is set in and can't wait to read more from it. I definitely plan on reading more from this author.

wordslinger42 I enjoyed this one, too! 2y

This is the first story in the Four Kingdoms series and I like these books SO much better. A woodcutters daughter is taken on as a Princess Companion and starts to train them how to be better rulers through stories. She gains the trust of the king and queen and must help them decide if any of the visiting princesses are the correct princess to marry the crown prince. A fun read, good characters, I always love a bookworm. 4/5 stars.
