Paris Revealed
Paris Revealed: The Secret Life of a City | Stephen Clarke
9 posts | 4 read | 8 to read
A guide to Paris for those who are mystified by the city, those who are in love with it, and those who feel a little of both Stephen Clarke may have adopted Paris as his home, but he still has an Englishmans eye for the people, cafs, art, sidewalks, food, fashion, and romance that make Paris a one-of-a-kind city. This irreverent outsider-turned-insider guide shares local savoir faire, from how to separate the good restaurants from the bad to navigating the baffling Mtro system. It also provides invaluable insights into the etiquette of public urination and the best ways to experience Parisian life without annoying the Parisians (a truly delicate art). Clarkes witty and expert tour of the city leaves no boulevard unexploredeven those that might be better left alone.

12/52 - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 - I love my first visit to Paris and this book brought back many memories, as well as getting me excited about my return visit. The chapters on food, romance, sex, art, and fashion are the best chapters of the book. Learning about the metro was fun and I could relate because I have been there. If you‘ve never been to Paris, I‘d recommend that you should go.

You can‘t read a book about Paris without having a chapter on fashion.

Loving my morning ritual - quite reading time with a cup of coffee before anything else happens in my life! Starting the day and ending the day with memories of Paris are delightful. Happy Sunday! Happy Reading! It is raining here, so I may not leave my house.

Being a Parisian means barging to the front of any queue, and being able to infuriate people just by shrugging.

No truer words for anyone who has ever had to ride public transportation on a daily.
