Might be a very, very slight pick. But be careful: if you're looking for a story or even information about the Baba Jaga from the traditional tales, this is not for you. The author writes a special interpretation of the old saga. There are some lovely parts (the flea for example), but all in all it drags too much and the love story feels forced.

The description in Litsy doesn't do this justice.
Tell me this back cover copy doesn't grab you!

After forcing Vassa in the Night onto a work friend, and her loving it, I was rewarded with this Baba Yaga themed book forced right back at me. Looks awesome and might get stacked on TOP of the teetering TBR!
Love the review quote on the cover calling it a supernatural-spy-thriller-romance-history.
That pretty much covers all bases and checks all the boxes 😁

Stopped by one of the two "local" bookshops after lunch, Carroll & Carroll Booksellers. I say "local" because it's 25 miles away, lol. Distance is what happens when you live deep in the woods, lol. Not the friendliest owners, but always good finds to be found ?. They're disorganized enough to make browsing a pleasant adventure. #getindie
