A story of mock trial, feminism, and the inherent power found in a pair of knitting needles. Raina Petree is crushing her senior year, until her boyfriend dumps her, the drama club (basically) dumps her, the college of her dreams slips away, and her arch-nemesis triumphs. Things arent much better for Millie Goodwin. Her father treats her like a servant, and the all-boy Mock Trial team votes her out, even after she spent the last three years helping to build its success. But then, an advice columnist unexpectedly helps Raina find new purpose in a pair of knitting needles and a politically active local yarn store. This leads to an unlikely meeting in the girls bathroom, where Raina inspires Millie to start a rival team. The two join together and recruit four other angry girls to not only take on Mock Trial, but to smash the patriarchy in the process.

5/5 for this one! This is a great book with lots of girl power. These girls are angry and they have a right to be. I loved this so much. Raina and Millie are wonderful characters. I definitely recommend this one!

I wanted to like this book more than I did, it had some of my favorite elements in a good book. But there were too many characters to keep track of and not enough description. But the characters were diverse and I enjoyed the yarn style protests. 3.5⭐️

Left 2020 on a high note with this one, which was delightful story-wise but lacked a bit writing-wise for me. Thoroughly enjoyed all the knitting content this brought to the table and am here for more of it.

Happy New Years, everyone! Here's to a safe, healthy 2021 🎊❤️

Hi Litsy! Happy Holidays! Happy Almost New Years! 🎇 I've been slumping hard for the past few months and haven't really been around (or read much at all), but I can feel my joy of reading coming back, finally! Currently reading this gem, which I'm hoping to finish today so I can end this hellish year on a high note! Hope you're all doing fantastic, and I can't wait to rejoin y'all in 2021 ❤️❤️

NovelGirl82 Hi! I haven‘t really been around much this year, either, so long time no see!! Happy New Year! 💚 4y

#readtiltheendreadathon continues, I guess. I liked this one a lot. It‘s a fast read about a group of high school students who band together to help one of them reach her dream of Mock Trial glory. It‘s an inclusive group that is on the right side of issues I care about, plus I liked getting to know them and their relationships. I‘d recommend it as a fast read. I mean, they are part of an activist knitting circle. What‘s not to like? 😋🧶💜

1. I usually sell mine to a used book store, but recently I‘ve been putting my diverse YA picks into local Little Free Libraries. I keep most of my nonfiction though because I‘m a highlighter!

2. The tagged book sounds so good! I love a good feminist YA. ❤️

@Emilymdxn Did you have a chance to do this? 😄
