After 36 hours exactly we are back up and running! Crews are still working very hard to clear the downed tree down the street but with minimal damage otherwise, warm blankets, BBQ for hot meals and food to cook we know how fortunate we were through this compared to others who fared out much worse. Time soon for a hot shower and then sorting out the casualities from my fridge and freezer. Small price to pay though so I won't complain! Happy Sunday!

Leftcoastzen Wow , hang in there! 2y

TheLudicReader My daughter lives in Halifax and I think they got off pretty easy. Still no power, but safe and sound…not like our neighbours in Cape Breton and PEI and Nfld. Glad you are okay. 2y

FantasyChick @TheLudicReader I think we are all very lucky here. I spoke too soon and our power is back out but the crews are hard at work and the phone lines are back up now. I havent seen many updates but my thoughts are greatly with NFLD right now. It's devastating for sure!! 2y
ShelleyBooksie Glad you are OK @FantasyChick . Hope your power comes back soon. My friend in the military was just telling me they are going to be deployed to NL and PEI to assist with clean up. 2y
ShelleyBooksie @TheLudicReader - glad to hear your daughter is OK in Halifax. My cousin in Darthmouth just got power back. 2y
FantasyChick @ShelleyBooksie Thank you! And that's good to hear! I know Port au Basque is in a state of emergency now but not sure how PEI fared. I can imagine there is going to be a lot of people needing help after this. The amount of flooding and wind damage must be horrific. 2y

Pickpick

1984. Classic #bodiceripper 🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌 Sean has Catherine kidnapped & brought to 🇮🇪 for revenge on her father. It‘s brutal & full of rape, violence, political intrigue, questions about parental identity. It‘s more #epicsaga than #romantsy. For all his horrible behavior, Sean suffers much in the 2nd half of the book. It was crazy but I loved it.

CoverToCoverGirl I read this many years ago and still remember it because of all graphic harrowing/awful things that the heroine suffered through... maybe the beginnings of what we now class as #DarkRomance 7y
Christy2318 @CoverToCoverGirl The heroine definitely suffered through a lot of horrible things & there was the whole she has to be raped & forced to enjoy sex that was prevalent in romance of that era. I think it‘s fair to say you can connect the lines between the bodice rippers & the current dark romances. 7y
CoverToCoverGirl I‘ll have to find a copy and give it re-read just to refresh and see how it really compares to recent dark romances I‘ve read. 😎 7y

Christy2318 @CoverToCoverGirl It is really hard to find. Crazy expensive on Amazon. I waited 6 months to get it on Open Library. I think there are lot of comparisons between it and Skye O‘Malley... 7y
CoverToCoverGirl Ohhh.. to bad I didn‘t keep my copy and who knew it would turn out to be so pricey... also what is this Open Library thing?.. I read the whole Skye O‘Malley series and really enjoyed it. 7y
Christy2318 @CoverToCoverGirl openlibrary.org You can check out books that are scans of out of print books. Since it‘s scanned pages, the reading experience isn‘t as great as other e-book platforms but I‘ve found it to be a decent source for old out of print things that I can‘t obtain readily otherwise. I‘ve Skye O‘Malley but need to continue with rest of series. 7y
