Fierce, Free, and Full of Fire: The Guide to Being Glorious You | Jen Hatmaker
9 posts | 8 read | 1 reading | 3 to read
New York Times bestselling author Jen Hatmaker, with cheeky candor and fearlessness, guides readers to a deep dive into how they are wired and provides them with the tools to walk in that identity with freedom and guts. Stuck in people-pleasing or fear, many women hide and pretend, then end up sidelined in their own lives. But what they want is to be brave, to claim every gift, dream, quirk, and emotion inside, to stop performing and start living. Beloved New York Times bestselling author Jen Hatmaker understands the struggle to find firm footing in a culture that operates from stereotypes and often unreachable expectations. In this new book, she offers women encouragement, challenge, and humor as she helps them identify everything that makes them tick and gain the confidence to live it all out. She leads them through five self-reflective categorieswho I am, what I need, what I want, what I believe, and how I connectand helps them: identify the exact ways they pretend, and learn instead how to be genuine at all times, in all ways, in all contexts; be empowered to say yes and no without guilt; learn to voice both their spiritual questions and convictions; and opt out of drama and into healthy adult relationships. With wry humor, earnest passion, and been-there insight, Jen calls women to the life-giving freedom of leaning into the identity, convictions, and community they've been given.

This one didn‘t resonate with me as much as her previous books but the audiobook was good. She has lots of bonus content and it really does feel like she is sitting right next to you.

I really enjoyed this book because it focused on a lot of important key points to living your best, glorious life. It is kind of like a guide book broken down into 5 different sections regarding who you are, what you need, what you want, what you believe and how you connect. I think every person will be able to resonate with at least one section or more. I highly recommend to anyone looking for more self improvement. #jenhatmaker #fiercefreefire

I love Jen and this book kind of sums up everything about her. It‘s encouraging and challenging and tender and tough and funny, all at once. An invitation to dive into your real life, as you really are. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really enjoyed her perspectives in a lot of areas. I'm the kind of person that sometimes needs to be told it's ok to take up space, say no, and set boundaries. This book was so much of that! I felt so encouraged and excited for the possibilities!

💯 Her best book yet. She briefly touches on losing her previous publisher and having her books removed from LifeWay, but most of the book is opinion/suggestions backed up by her own personal experience, which makes it more credible and robust to me. Different chapters will resonate differently with every reader. There‘s one part I‘ve read over and over and it makes me cry every single time. Audio narrated by Jen has a ton of bonus content!!

intothehallofbooks I received this review copy from the publisher, but added the audio on my own! Thanks Thomas Nelson! 4y

#currentlyreading I love Jen Hatmaker but I was initially a little bit apprehensive about the part in the title that says “The Guide to Being Glorious You.” I should not have been. It isn‘t cheesy or dorky at all. It‘s good, really good. Also, I went ahead and grabbed the audio, read by Jen herself, because it has a lot of bonus content that isn‘t in the print and I‘m really enjoying both print and audio with my coffee this morning. ☕️☀️
