so-soThere's a loveliness here that saddens me when I cannot rate it as a pick. It's a collection of sonnets dedicated to his wife, about their relationship. It takes in the crap they endure as a mixed race couple, Brexit, the lack of affordable housing, family, immigration... i.e the rich margin where the private and social meet. BUT for me a sonnet sequence needs to embrace more of the constraints of the form than 14 lines and the odd bit of rhyme.3*
