This is second in a historical mystery series that I began two years ago, so it started out slowly for me as I began to recall the storyline of its predecessor.
Stella (“the American” heiress) and Lyndy (Viscount Lyndhurst) are moving forward in their unusual engagement when they discover the body of Lord Fairbrother while fishing one day. Suspects are plentiful as he was not universally liked. As Stella and Lyndy try to help 🔻

robinb Inspector Brown solve the case, another victim is found, someone dear to Stella herself. How are they connected, and why were they killed? Following a slow start I remembered why I had initially enjoyed the series beginner. Stella. She is a fun, effervescent, lovable, unapologetic delight, and I began to see more of why Lyndy is her perfect fit. The storyline is fine, the progression 🔻 1y
