Heard lots of good things about this book so hoping it lives up to all the hype.
This was an excellent sinister thriller! Constance moves to London and starts to work at a medical practice and promptly begins a relationship with a doctor. She thinks this is it love and marriage, but it is not to be. So starts an obsession that will change both their lives! I was quite gripped! I usually not fond of women being stalkish but you do feel equal sorry and annoyed with Constance
This book is a knock out, absolutely brilliant. I was a bit unsure at first but fell in love with it. There are so many complex relationships, I loved the relationship between Constance and Edward and utterly repulsed by Dale. The link to her mother was so touching and found it so relatable. The way the author encourages you to empathise with Constance was superb and you felt every single bit of love, heartbreak and loneliness. Amazing.
This month I will be reading these books for my alphabet challenge. The letters I and J. I need to get cracking on if I want to get to the end of the alphabet. For the letter J, I only have one book. It seems I have not a book that start with this letter. I will start with If I Can't Have You by Charlotte Levin. Hope it's good!
It started badly for me and I wasn't sure if I would finish it, but then I started really getting in to it. I started to sympathise with the female character and could see why she acted the way she did towards the male character.
Loved this. Loneliness that turns into obsession. I read this on The Pigeonhole, and whilst a lot of readers disliked Constance because she kept leaving herself open to heartbreak, I have a soft spot for the unlikeable main character. And I thought she seemed very vulnerable. The character who deserved a good slap, was the object of her obsession. Really well written, and a great debut novel.
Wonderfully written and vividly told, this is just a fabulous story of loneliness, love and obsession. Constance is such a fascinating and worrying character. She is the first person narrator of the tale and takes the reader on quite a rollercoaster of a journey. You never know what she is going to do next! Some of it will have you cringing at her actions and at other times it will bring a tear to your eye. I was totally gripped. #Pigeonhole
I love the relationship between Constance & Edward, genuinely touching & such a sharp contrast between the relationships she has with the other men in her life. There is a genuine level of crazy in Constance yet she seems equally as sweet and vulnerable.
