Book 131. Children's lit. A unique, mildly charming story with magical elements (a girl who understands elephants, communicates with the wind, and sees ghosts). Enjoyable but the characters and relationships lack depth. Literary fiction is more my cup of tea.
An adventurous, fun middle grade novel filled with magical realism & a touch of the paranormal. I really enjoyed the main character, Lexington, who lives at the zoo, being found there alone, protected by one of the elephants, after a damaging tornado swept through the area. Now a bit older, she stumbles across a mystery pertaining to the elephants and a missing treasure. In her search she also finds out some more of her own history along the way.
