Pickpick

In the first few pages of Harper‘s latest, I was worried that she was trudging into the formulaic, but then it took off. Set in Tasmania, this book is as great as the first three!

Everyone in town is haunted by events related to a terrible ocean storm years ago. Now there‘s been another death. Survival permeates the story — survival that is not always a gift. Although set at the edge of vast sea, there is a claustrophobia here that horrifies.

Good listen for unpacking! Great narration with fun accents, like all the Harper books. #mystery #audiobook #Tasmania

Pickpick

I really enjoy Jane Harper‘s work and stayed up late to finish The Survivors. This time around, like in The Lost Man, the story doesn‘t center on a detective. The main character has returned home where he was involved in a tragedy as a teenager. It seemed realistic how he came across information and there were several viable suspects in the story. It did end a little abruptly. I could‘ve used an epilogue.
