The Princess Diaries 6: Royal Rebel
The Princess Diaries 6: Royal Rebel | Meg Cabot
How can Princess Mia Thermopolis bear it? Michael, her ONE TRUE LOVE, has gone away to college, leaving her to face a new school year TOTALLY ALONE (well, nearly). With a potential eco-disaster happening in Genovia, a new English teacher who doesn't understand her and a totally transformed (hot!) Boris to get used to, life for the world's most reluctant royal is looking like it can't get much worse. Until Grandmere and Lilly step in - with a plan to save Genovia and Albert Einstein High. A plan that involves Grandmere showing up at school in her fur cape and tiara! PRAISE FOR MEG CABOT "There is a school of thought that says reading should be entertaining, and this is exactly what Meg Cabot produces for us: fun. She is the master of her genre; she is the George Bernard Shaw, if not the George Eliot of [her genre]." Publishers Weekly "Cabot has . . . an off-the-wall sense of humor that will have readers laughing out loud and a knack for creating fully realized characters that readers will miss when the story ends." Pickpick

No intellectual revelations with this one, but a whole LOT of fun! Princess Mia has to deal with a boyfriend who is now in college, among many other issues that to her teenaged brain are wildly blown out of proportion. I felt like she is starting to grow up a bit in this one, and look forward to reading the next few in the series.
