Sweet Child o' Mine | Guns N Roses

Mehso-so

Part of Guns N‘ Roses best-known song, Sweet Child o‘ Mine is transformed into a #PictureBook . I‘m not a fan of GNR—my tastes are more grunge and post-grunge era—but I have to wonder why the illustrations to this are very country music based. Cowboy hats and boots and just an overall country feeling. No problems with it, but given the type of music, it just seems an odd choice. #BBRC #LetterS

LibrarianRyan My review of this must have never posted. Yeah it was way to country. Even Sherl Crows version (which is not a favorite) was not county. I was sooooooooo disappointed in this. this would work for John Denver, not for GNR. 2mo

3 ⭐This book is an illustration of this song. To be more specific it‘s an illustration of the first stanza in the song, the break, and the chorus. The words are nothing surprising, but the illustrations are. I like the illustrations, but they seem very country music when Sweet Child of mine is very much a rock song. It does have music at its heart, but with the emphasis on the fairgrounds and the cowboy boots, and the cowboy hat, it just doesn‘t

LibrarianRyan seem to match with what this song is. I love this song. I can sing it all, and maybe that‘s my problem. Because I want this book to be better. Why not do the entire song instead of just the “where do we go now” and the “oh sweet child of mine”. There‘s more to this tale and unfortunately this book does not do it justice. 11mo
MissyD Ohhh. I MUST buy this book for my son. He‘s 21. When he was a baby this was what I sang to him as a lullaby. 🤣. Classic rock soothes him like nothing else. 🤣. 11mo
