After All I've Done
After All I've Done | Mina Hardy
7 posts | 9 read | 8 to read
Writing as Mina Hardy, New York Times bestselling author Megan Hart delivers a thrilling new psychological suspense for fans of The Woman in the Window and When the Lights Go Out. She's lost her best friend, her husband--and possibly, her mind. Five months ago, an accident left Diana Sparrow badly injured and missing a few months of her memory. As if that's not enough, she's started having recurring nightmares about the night of the accident. Dreams that feel so real, she's left questioning: maybe she didn't just slide off the road into a ditch. Maybe, just maybe, she hit something. Or someone. She can't turn to her former best friend Val, who's been sleeping with Diana's husband Jonathan for months, but she might find some comfort in newcomer Cole Pelham. Yet the closer they become, the more Diana begins to wonder what really happened that night--and how Cole might be connected. Worse, it seems everyone else could be involved, too. Who was with her that night? What really happened? As her life unravels thread by thread and the dreams become too real to ignore, Diana will have to face the unthinkable--and do the unforgivable.

Pick-ish 3.5⭐
So, it turns out this pretty cover is hiding something so very twisted. What started rather slow eventually picked up steam as it went along and that ending left me stunned plus a few other feelings but in the moment, I was there for it just because of how much it took me by surprise. The shifting timelines coupled with the shifting POVs do get a touch confusing but otherwise, this one has the potential to appeal to some.

Diana Sparrow doesn‘t remember much after waking up in the hospital barely clinging to life after a tragic car accident. Her journey to recovering her memory is piqued when she discovers a list she had written prior to the accident. Her MIL moved into the apt above their garage to help Diana. It was a blessing in the beginning when she initially got home but soon finds her over bearing and annoying. Twisted story of revenge, resentment, jealousy.

And another book finished for #Jumpstart2021, #JoyousJanuary and #TBRDeckofCards! The prompt for the 5♣️ was Animal in title or on cover. This was a NetGalley ARC, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Though I guessed some of the twists, I certainly didn‘t expect the main twist at the end.

Lizpixie I‘ve still got to do my deck! I get distracted by all the other challenges I‘m doing🤦🏻‍♀️ 4y

After All I‘ve Done was a page turner that I did not want to put down. There was so much suspense from the beginning. Val is Diana‘s best friend since childhood, and Diana has no idea why they aren‘t talking anymore. Jonathan, Diana‘s husband, is always working.

Thank you Dreamscape Media, Crooked Lane Books, and NetGalley.

Typical psychological thriller, with an unreliable narrator. The author does manage a few surprises.

This was my first book by this author and I truly did enjoy it. It was very fast paced and full of many twists. The only problem I had was that I figured out who the bad person was. I do that but always hate it. It takes away a bit. Though I have to admit there were some parts that floored me. 4/5 stars.

Hold on to your britches, people, because I‘m about to lay down every cliché comment and passé phrase in existence in describing this book. I – LOVED – THIS – STORY!
