This one is a little bittersweet for me. It is the last of the Squirrel Girl comics from this author. It wrapped up nicely, but it's still sad to see it go. This one was really good, obviously it would be since it was the last one. I do know Squirrel Girl has 2 novels and appears in other things, but it won't be the same. I will still read the novels, hopefully they will capture the same spirit of the comics.

The final volume of Squirrel Girl includes the solicits for each issue (ie, the little blurbs that help comic shop owners decide what to order), and they‘re excellent. I could‘ve shared any one of them, but I picked the Mew issue because it references the Pizza Dog issue, which is great. (Also—spoiler—Pizza Dog totally helps Mew out, too. He‘s such a good boy.)

Bamfing: not just for Nightcrawler.

I think I‘ve told y‘all this before, but when people on the internet started saying BAMF I totally thought they were all making Nightcrawler references. Then I learned what it actually meant, and I was like, “Ah. Still fits.” Nightcrawler‘s a BAMF who bamfs.

(But in this particular panel, Galactus is the bamfer and also the BAMF.)

(Also, WHY can Hollywood not make a proper bamf sound????)

I finished the final volume of Squirrel Girl over breakfast and forgot to share my pic of the event! Oops.

I‘m gonna miss this series, y‘all. It‘s a wonder and a delight.

Here‘s my last library haul for at least the next month. Our COVID situation is out of control and library runs ain‘t worth the risk. I picked up the stuff that‘d already come in for me and suspended everything else until November 30th. If this keeps up, I‘ll probably extend that.

ETA: they‘ve formally announced they‘re closing the library again after tomorrow. Whew. Keeping it open really didn‘t feel safe.

Lreads I‘m glad you‘re staying safe. Canada is handling things better than the US. Honestly, I never realized there were so many selfish people down here! 😔 4y
xicanti @QuietlyLaura unfortunately, we‘ve also had major problems here in Manitoba with selfish people contributing to community spread. Our positivity rate and cases per capita are now comparable to lots of parts of the US. 😔 Hopefully the more stringent restrictions they announced today will help curb it. We‘re almost out of ICU beds. 4y
