Aru Shah and the City of Gold
Aru Shah and the City of Gold: A Pandava Novel Book 4 | Roshani Chokshi
10 posts | 10 read | 8 to read
Best-selling author Rick Riordan Presents the penultimate book in the Pandava series by best-selling author Roshani Chokshi. Aru and her sisters--including one who also claims to be the Sleeper's daughter--must find their mentors Hanuman and Urvashi in Lanka, the city of gold, before war breaks out between the devas and asuras. Aru has just made a wish on the tree of wshes, but she can't remember what it was. She's pretty sure she didn't wish for a new sister, one who looks strangely familiar and claims to be the Sleeper's daughter, like her. Aru also isn't sure she still wants to fight on behalf of the devas in the war against the Sleeper and his demon army. The devas have been too devious up to now. Case in point: two of the Pandavas' mentors, Hanuman and Urvashi, have been mysteriously detained in Lanka, the city of gold. Why? The Pandavas need to find them and get some answers before the Otherworld's magic fades completely in the human realm. Aru's biggest question, though, is why every adult she has loved and trusted so far has failed her. Will she come to peace with what they've done before she has to wage the battle of her life? Filled with wondrous magic, unforgettable creatures, manipulative gods, and laugh-out-loud dialogue, this fourth book in the Pandava series will leave readers wishing they could read the finale right now.

This entertaining middle grade fantasy series based on Hindu mythology has become an auto-buy for me. I thoroughly enjoyed the latest installment!🔸#aprilreads2021

I love this series. The mythology works well, the feminism is on point, the nerdy references are amazing. Cannot wait for the next book and it's only been out a week.

That was amazing!! Immensely enjoyed this book. As the book right before the final, there is usually a lot wanting. This was not one of them. The subtle foreshadowing throughout the book was so well hidden, yet made so much sense by the end. Had so much fun with this book. Love how each character got a chance in the spotlight, showing how much they‘ve grown. Hate the cliffhanger closure
But so excited for the final next spring. #RiordanPresents

I need a moment for chapter 20.
/slight spoilers/ & side of previous book notes/
I love Brynne so incredibly much. Her desire to Be the Best, with all her childhood trophies... she wants to be loved and have people around her. She tries so hard to prove her strength. This one chapter was all her, more than her POV, but with so much character growth for her. I connect with her most-oldest sibling worries, That I can protect them #RiordanPresents

Oh My Gosh just look at this shipping spread! Impressed with how Books of Wonder packaged the book in bubble wrap AND brown paper. Perfect way to send out a special signed book. Wasn‘t expecting a daily journal at all. Loved hearing Rosh on the virtual event, too
So excited to get this book read - 4 or 5 - so almost done. Literally growing up with Aru and the other Potatoes. Love that group name. Don‘t want this series to end!! #RiordanPresents
