Dear Miss Kopp, Volume 6
Dear Miss Kopp, Volume 6 | Amy Stewart
9 posts | 7 read | 2 to read
Split apart by the war effort, the indomitable Kopp sisters take on saboteurs and spies and stand up to the Army brass as they face the possibility that their life back home will never be the same. The U.S. has finally entered World War I. Constance, the oldest of the Kopp sisters, is doing intelligence work on the home front for the Bureau of Investigation while youngest sister and aspiring actress, Fleurette, travels across the country entertaining troops with song and dance. Meanwhile, at an undisclosed location in France, Norma oversees her thwarted pigeon project for the Army Signal Corps. When her roommate, a nurse at the American field hospital, is accused of stealing essential medical supplies, the intrepid Norma is on the case to find the true culprit. Determined to maintain their sometimes-scratchy family bonds across the miles, the far-flung sisters try to keep each other in their lives. But the world has irrevocably changed--when will the sisters be together again? Told through letters, Dear Miss Kopp weaves the stories of real-life women a century ago, proving once again that "any novel that features the Kopp sisters is going to be a riotous, unforgettable adventure" (Bustle).

Many thanks to @amystewart and @rotariusa for joining the #litsybookclub to discuss #Rotari sparkling from Northern Italy while sharing beautiful pictures of the vineyard & #DearMissKopp.

Amy‘s book with the Kopp sisters had many great adventures in this epistolary novel set during WWI.

mabell That sounds like it was a lot of fun! 3y
tpixie @mabell yes! We had fun learning about the vineyard ( they invented copper bracelets with pheromones for the vines as a natural pesticide) & discussing books with Amy Stewart! The sparkling wine was great! I want to try their Rosé! And I had just finished a book set in Northern Italy, so that was fun! (edited) 3y
leah152 So lucky!!! 😊 The copper bracelets sound interesting 😊 3y
tpixie @leah152 yes! Our Bookclub won a contest! I was intrigued by the copper bracelet also!! (edited) 3y

I always enjoy Amy Stewart‘s writing, whether nonfiction or these fictional stories of the Kopp sisters. She brings such interesting true details into these historical fiction novels, and the sisters‘ personalities are each uniquely wonderful. I jumped ahead in the series for this newest told in #epistolary format, but I still hope to read all of them at some point.

leah152 You should definitely read the rest, they're really good. I'm waiting for this one to be available in the book shop but might cave & order it online 📚😊 3y
JazzFeathers I've just read it too. It was good 😊 3y
Daisey @leah152 I‘ve read the first two, and I do plan to read the others. There are just always so many books on the TBR list! I jumped ahead to this one for a book club discussion. 3y

leah152 @Daisey I hear you there! I bought a second hand bookcase just for my TBR pile & it wasn't big enough. Fail. Big fail lol! 😊📚 3y

Somehow @AmyStewart always sends me down rabbit holes when I read her books! I had to buy this classic travel guide that Norma snarkingly referred to! I long to go to Paris, Langres, and to see some French speaking goats 🐐

It was kind of hard for me to get into the epistolary form of this novel, but once l got accustomed to it, l really enjoyed it.
It was nice to see the three Kopp sisters living the was, each in her own way.
I enjoyed the mysteries too, though they were more as short stories.

Definitely enjoyable.

Started this tonight. It's a #NetGalley ARC.

Don't know how l feel about it. It appears to be all told in the form of letters. I've reached the 16% mark, but still l don't know what the story is about.

Let's see.

Daisey I‘ve read and enjoyed the first couple books in this series, but I haven‘t had a chance to catch up to the newer ones yet. It might be hard to jump into a later one written in epistolary format. (edited) 3y
JazzFeathers @Daisey l've only read one, l think it was the third. It took me a bit to get used to the epistolary style, but now l'm enjoying it. 3y

Volume 6 of the Kopp Sisters series in epistolary form.

I very much enjoyed this one. Actually much more than the 5th book.

Set in WWI, it gives an insight of the work of women in the US and in France during the war.
