Who Was Louis Braille?
Who Was Louis Braille? | Margaret Frith, Who Hq
1 post | 1 read
Louis Braille certainly wasn't your average teenager. Blind from the age of four, he was only fifteen when in 1824 he invented a reading system that converted printed words into columns of raised dots. Through touch, Braille opened the world of books to the sightless, and almost two hundred years later, no one has ever improved upon his simple, brilliant idea.

Not sure that this was #ER but it's not middle grade either I am putting it as an er.
I chose to read this as a choice for my second graders. This coming week we are reading about Helen Keller. Hopefully one of them enjoys this book as much as I did.

Tattooedteacher We use many of the books in the series for our third grade biography unit. I love these books. Also I recently read that lego is using Braille on the legos. 4y
