I don‘t think I‘m going to be cooking this recipe for sure! There‘s a lot of interesting information about Croatia and its varied cuisines, but this is a big turn off. I‘m also not cooking the one that calls for 4 cups of heavy cream. My arteries clogged just reading it 😄
LoveToReadLiveToRead I remember seeing “cheval” in the meat section of a French supermarket when I was a kid and being mortified. I was a horse loving child, I couldn‘t fathom eating them! 🐴 4y
rubyslippersreads I‘m sure it has “unique flavors.” 😂🤢 4y
zezeki I'm Croatian and I've never eaten horse meat nor I'm familiar with any national dish that uses horse meat. There's a salami called mortadella that's made out of horse meat, but that's about it that I'm aware of. 😅 4y
Palimpsest I try to remind myself that other cultures eat things that are completely normal for them even if it‘s different for us. Really from a certain viewpoint how is it permissible to eat cows and pigs, chickens and turkeys, but not donkeys and horses? It‘s a meat paradox. I for one love pet horses and donkeys. We also had a pet duck when I was a kid who followed me and would sit in your lap yet some people eat ducks. 🤷♀️ I‘ve pretty much moved to veg 4y
