One of my baby's first books! It's a beautiful, soothing story about an Indigenous couple welcoming a baby. (The writer is from the Dene Nation and the illustrator is Cree Métis). "You are life and breath adored." "Little you / little wonder / Little wish / gentle thunder"
????

TiredLibrarian Congratulations; glad your baby's getting started with books! 📚😊❤ 3y

I switched my daughter to the 0-3 year old Little Feminist Book Club Box. I loved all the books she got in her previous boxes and she liked a lot of them but many had too much writing for her attention span. She‘s only 4 and with Dandy Walker Syndrome she can get frustrated and overwhelmed easily even when being read to. She understands it‘s just too much at once sometimes. This is one book from her first month of the 0-3 box. #littlefeminist

5⭐️ A simple rhyme that is just beautiful. The illustrations are a perfect match. This book showcases two languages, english and plains cree. I have no idea how to pronounce any of the cree words, but it looks like a beautiful language I would love to learn.

CaitlinR This would make a wonderful author event. 6y

Another charming board book for and about babies. A perfect read aloud with soft rhymes and gorgeous illustrations.

My good friend is having a baby soon, so I gave her my current favorite board books.

I love Richard Van Camp‘s and Julie Flett‘s stories: The writing is engaging, the illustrations are lovely, and the children are Native American.

I'm rarely impressed with board books, but this book is one of the best I've ever seen. The writing is lovely ("You are life and breath adored"), the illustrations are high contrast (good for the wee ones), show male and female adults, and the family is not white.
If my kids were babies I would own this book. Instead I'm going to buy it for any new babies in my life.
