Pirates are cool. Pirates with magic are cooler. Pirates, magic and a capybara? An a chinchilla? And a marmot? Well, that' more than cool. I didn't always get what's going on, but I didn't really care. Why should I if I can spend time with a capybara pirate captain? And the sweetest chinchilla boy?

This was like reading an unedited fever dream. The 7 stories are loosely held together, the time jumps and writing make it difficult to understand and enjoy.

I really wanted to like this because the main character is a lesbian capybara pirate in a poly relationship with a rat and a marmot. There were some good ideas, I just couldn't handle the writing.

I have so much amazing fantasy on my shelf clamoring to be read (a selection featured here). The latest exciting addition to the #TBR is The Voyages of Cinrak the Dapper - AJ Fitzwater‘s debut collection of the adventures of a well-dressed lesbian pirate capybara. Squeaking entirely mine.
