Very good. Enjoyed going back to the wonderful cast of characters who feel so real and catching up on what they are up to. Centered around the start of World War Two it shows how they are dealing with it and the cost it will bring to all their lives. Also don't be deceived by the cover it's not a Christmas book. Thank you #Netgalley for the free copy.

rockpools & social issues of the day touch on everything that happens in the hotel. Including some extremely 2022 themes - denial, refuge, mistrust of ‘others‘, the toxic old boys network…

Where this didn‘t work for me was the overdramatic coincidences from the very first page which took from the ‘realness‘ of the story. I will be coming back for part 5 though! 2y

Birdsong28 Glad you enjoyed it enough to go back. I think we have invested enough time in these books to carry on the series even if it sometimes is a bit overdramatic. I will probably read this myself soon. ☺️📚📖 2y

This thoroughly engaging story set mainly in a luxury hotel had me in a whirl! 💃 I thought it was well written and captivating with a remarkable array of fascinating characters. There are some serious threads running through it but there are also moments of pizazz and excitement. I do intend to go back and read the earlier books. All in all a surprisingly delightful read which did bring a tear to my eye. #Pigeonhole
