When Aang leaves to aid Zuko with the Kemurikage, Katara and Sokka return to the Southern Water Tribe by themselves. Katara is shocked to find that her beloved village has become a bustling city, with none other than their father, Hakoda, in charge! A Northerner named Malina seems to be behind this change, pushing the North and South to be more unified...but what are her true goals? Written and drawn by the creative team behind the best-selling The Search, The Rift, and Smoke and Shadow, Gene Luen Yang and Gurihiru, in collaboration with Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, this is the ultimate continuation of Avatar and the perfect companion to Legend of Korra!

Mehso-so

Finished another trilogy in the ATLA series and heading on to the next!

This was okay. I find a repeating storyline in this and the previous one. It gets quite boring to read the same thing in a different scenario. Hoping the next book is different🤞🏽

Rating: 3.5/5
Books description ⬇️

i.besteph Book description: The trilogy is set following the events of Smoke and Shadow. As a close sequel to the original Avatar series, it depicts events that occur seventy years before the sequel series The Legend of Korra. 3y

A very fun read! Visits some heavy topics of nationalism, xenophobia, and tribal erasear, as Avatar does. #avatar

My mom's in town babysitting and so we went out on date, drinks and then Barnes and Noble to read manga. Got to read some excellent new Avatar!! #datenight

Ruri_kaichou So that date sounds awesome! I may need to steal that idea 7y
Mc_cart_ny @Ruri_kaichou It was great! We used to go to the bookstore almost every weekend pre-baby but have gone once (twice now) post-baby. 7y

Probably my favorite of the graphic novels yet (though I only read smoke & shadow). Exciting, fun, sibling love, and real life experiences that native tribes have faced since the colonization of they're lands told in a story everyone can understand while explaining things that occur in LoK.
