I'm getting Daphne du Maurier vibes!

''She is awake''.

Who? Who is awake?

The following paragraph is pretty intriguing too.

Don't you just love it when you're absolutely captivated by a first page.

#AwesomeAugustReadathon hosted by @Andrew65 starts tomorrow 📚😍📚

I'm planning a less structured, more mood-based readathon. My planned reading schedule for #bookspinbingo is mostly ocean based, so I'll definitely be paddling my way through those, starting with the tagged.
My main goal will be to manage 60-90 minutes reading time per day. Obvs more is always a bonus, right? 😉📚📚📚📚📚
Too many books, too little time

Happy reading folks 😊

Andrew65 Best of luck 😁 Sometime the lack of structure helps! 2y
AllDebooks @Andrew65 thank you. I hope so feeling a bit more 'go with the flow' this month. Was gonna put free and easy but thought that may be open to misinterpretation 😃 2y

Wonderful- atmospheric and beautiful...in an unsettling way. If you liked 'The Essex Serpent' you will most likely enjoy this. It satisfied my love of marshes, estuaries, sea salt and screaming gulls.

like this as a whole and loved bits of it! Seventeenth century Norfolk - England is at civil war, witch hunts, fear and suspicion at every turn! Andrew‘s writes beautifully - has a wonderful turn of phrase and has captured the time and place through the language her characters use. I loved the first section - but felt the second two sections took such different directions that they felt disconnected. Fab debut!

JaneyWaneyB I'm looking forward to this one. Good to hear it is a pick 💜💜💜 2y
Bookbuyingaddict Hi Mitch , the county of Norfolk is stunning 🤩 it has some of the most beautiful beaches in the uk and quintessential little English villages with stone cottages , north Norfolk is the best around holkham , Thornham , brancaster , wells on sea , we take our dogs and stay 3-4 times a year , it‘s very very expensive now . Il send you some photos 😁 2y
Mitch @JaneyWaneyB I loved her writing style ✔️ 2y

When the wind and rain are both howling - the afternoon is set for a few chapters of a new book. A recommendation from Mrs Harris and she always picks me good ones!

Starting something new today- the last book I read was anger inducing- so going for something ‘pretty‘ ! Although this is about 17th century witch hunting - so might not be as calming as needed! 🤣
