Pickpick

5/5⭐ An absolutely delightful, hilarious, absurd, anachronistic adventure. Underneath the parody of the classic myth/heroic story is an incredibly smart, self-aware, logical structure crafted w/ expert precision & growth arcs. Despite frequent absurdity & anachronisms (like vending machines deep in a fantasy cavern), nothing was included in a hand-wavy way. An incredible homage to the hero's journey & just plain fun. #roll100 #bookspinbingo

(Mirakles, which I've been pronouncing in my head as Meer-uh-cleys, is the name of the hero.)

“Will Mirakles never cease?“

This book is an absolutely delightful parody of the classic myths/hero's journey.

“Listen,“ said the darkly-tanned hero, “you said Thrag appeared to my mother as a year's supply of microwave popcorn. I was born nine months later. Whatever happened to the other three months' worth of popcorn?“
