I can‘t really say I loved this book or this series. I think I want to like it more than I do and I want to like Miriam and her husband more than I do. But we get so much of the minutiae of Miriam‘s son‘s life and so much about her pregnancy and so little about the mystery that I can‘t bring myself to care. #audiowalk

Can‘t say I‘m loving this book. There‘s not enough mystery, too much food information, and far too much of the everyday activities of Miriam‘s small child. Now that she‘s pregnant again, there‘s going to also be far too much about her pregnancy. 🙄 I may not read any more in this series because I just don‘t care. Started this one the other day. I am about halfway through. This is the second book of A Caribbean Kitchen Mystery series. I do not love it. I'm not wanting to pick it up. 😕 I am considering setting it aside to finish later. 🤔 I want to read something more engaging while I have the time. Something I can't put down.

What a riotously amusing novel! Full of good food, Halloween themed events, a horrible mother-in-law and a little murder mystery thrown in... okay maybe a lot of murder mystery.

Following the trail of multiple events, Miriam, a Cuban-American star of a cooking show, doesn't intend to play detective to these murder mysteries, but it just seems to follow her around. This story keeps you on your toes with twists around every corner!

The 2nd book in the Carribean Kitchen Mysteries did not disappoint. In the first book, Miriam snoops so much she often gets in trouble, but I really appreciated the passive why she stumbled upon clues and bodies. The people, food anthropology, and crazy situations keep me coming back to this series. And I WILL be trying some of the included recipes. This whole series is YUM! Also, it's definitely helping me learn Spanish.
