I‘ve kept going ( around page 150 now) and @Booksblanketsandahotbeverage you are right about the Henry parts ( I also like that Addie is finding her groove in both timelines and doesn‘t feel so desperate) I am intrigued by him and why he hasn‘t forgotten her

Aims42 I always notice something new when you post your “book, beverage, window” picture 🤩. This time it‘s your amazing coaster; Sip, read, repeat 😂 Love it! Cheers! 🥂 9h
Booksblanketsandahotbeverage Yay! I finished it last weekend and I was pretty surprised by how much I ended up liking it. 9h

This has been on my TBR for ages and it‘s also one of my irl book club picks but I‘m struggling - after 1000 Doors of January and A Short Walk Through a Wide World it just feels flat or more of the same ( I‘m only about 50 pages in so maybe it gets better - always try to do 100 pages just in case )

Scochrane26 I loved this one, but I can see where reading the other 2 first would make it hard (I haven‘t read the 2nd one you mentioned, just January). It does take awhile to get going. 4d
mcctrish @Scochrane26 well I‘m glad to hear I just need to keep going - I read A Short Walk in the last few months so it‘s just being brought to the forefront of my brain starting this 4d
Booksblanketsandahotbeverage I‘m currently reading this too. Parts are really good, but it feels a little long… 4d

TracyReadsBooks I‘m a big fan of Schwab—she‘s an automatic buy for me—and I‘ve loved everything she‘s written EXCEPT this book. For whatever reason, it just didn‘t work for me. 4d
mcctrish @TracyReadsBooks I‘ve just found out the person hosting book club FINALLY picked a date and it‘s the one night I‘m already going out 😣 so now I don‘t even know if I want to bother except I did buy this thinking I‘d love it so now I‘m just mad 4d
mcctrish @Booksblanketsandahotbeverage most of my buddy reads are wrapping up so I‘m going to keep going but ……. 4d
emz711 @mcctrish that's what I thought. Yum! 4d
Booksblanketsandahotbeverage I love the Henry parts of the story and have been skimming the past Addie parts 🙅‍♀️ 4d
mcctrish @Booksblanketsandahotbeverage I do like the modern day storyline better so far 4d
TracyReadsBooks @mcctrish Oh man, what rotten luck! I look forward to your review if you decide to keep going. And if not, I totally understand! 4d

Time was definitely not linear in the writing of this story. I enjoyed the concept of it, though it was nothing new, making a deal with a devil. And considering that she could live as long as she wanted, that was a pretty good deal compared to most of the others he made. I was hoping that she would end up with Luc anyway, I was just bummed that even though she did…she really didn‘t. I enjoyed how she inspired all those artists.

The only serious book I‘ve read lately, finished early May but hadn‘t posted anything yet. Took me awhile to read this, I think because of the somber tone, but I loved it. Thank you to @katiekat311 for gifting me the special edition in a swap.

katiekat311 I‘m so glad you ended up enjoying it!❤️ 2y

A book is a gift to dream, to travel, to learn. This book was a gift indeed from a group of wonderful people that mean a lot to me. I have gasped, smiled, felt sadness, anger and joy throughout the story. Thank you for sharing this beautiful story with me💚 @Sharv_Sona @Lovelylottereader @AnnaSummer7 and the rest of the Golden Team ✨ I will always remember you.

Lovelylottereader ❤️😭🥰😊 3y
Sharv_Sona It‘s such an honour that we are considered as “wonderful people”! We are so happy that you liked this book, considering that a small part of each of us lies within those pages. ❤️🥹 3y

“Being forgotten, she thinks, is a bit like going mad. You begin to wonder what is real, if you are real. After all, how can a thing be real if it cannot be remembered? It‘s like that Zen koan, the one about the tree falling in the woods. If no one heard it, did it happen? If a person cannot leave a mark, do they exist?”

4.6 ⭐

Somehow I put out this book months ago after reading 20%. I got notion in my mind that this book will definitely have a sad ending, brokenhearted, something that I would make me mop for days. But I was wrong, somehow the ending is fitting, some say it was anticlimatic, but for me it's just perfect.

Perfect perfect PERFECT 💃💃💃

"These are the words of a man - Voltaire. But they are also the hands that set the type. The ink that made it readable, the tree that made the paper. All of them matter, though credit goes only to the name on the cover."
