Reading Quirks by The Wild Detectives

A blend of the Time Traveler‘s Wife by Niffenegger, the Terminator movie (solely on the element of the timeline overlapping), and the Rose Garden by Kearsley. A story with rich depth, ambiguity, and masterfully tapestry of genres/subgenres including historical fiction, science fiction, time travel, mystery, magical realism, murder, and romance. I am flabbergasted by how the author weaved a complex web of themes and genres into one beautiful story.
A retelling of the East of the Sun and West of the Moon fairy tale. Charming, enchanting, and filled with adventures. Has a mixed vibe of Beauty and the Beast and Narnia.

I am always pleased to read Schwab stories. She is a very gifted writer. She crafts vivid imaginative worlds with complex plots and supernatural or paranormal elements that permit her readers to flee into a realm beyond reality.

Relished the complexity and the richness of both the story and the characters. I was completely immersed in the narrative, feeling every emotion alongside the characters. It was written beautifully. The conflict, tension, and dialogue were a page-turner and I was compelled to read it in one day. The nail-biting suspense of the last 50 pages had me on the edge of my seat.

The best love story I've read. Sheridan masterfully created complex characters that emotionally conveyed the characters' journey through their internal struggles and vulnerabilities. Archer and Bree are unforgettable. Their spellbinding and heart-warming love story will stay with me forever.

Sweet, tender, and soul-stirring. It moved me to read about characters who could truly see and understand each other in a deeper level. Made me root for both characters. Lots of quotes that will warm your heart and fill you with positivity. Emotionally rewarding to read.

I loved this. Some aspects of it reminded me of the 1990s movie Casper. I enjoyed the story very much. Narrated very well. The main female character irked me in the beginning but when she smartened up I was relieved. I adored her friends, the 80s era, the music, the history, and of course the love story. Beware, this ends on a cliffhanger.

Good solid story about first love, mental illness, family, small town, bullying, and racism. The mystery about what's happening at that creepy house pretty much what pulled me in and with the added local tragedy mystery, completely engrossed all my attention.

Wow. It's not a very long story but it gives a punch in the heart. It's pretty powerful.
If only in reality, victims of sex slavery could all be given the same hopeful ending.
Great ghost story. Great mystery. Gave me goosebumps! Loved the interconnection between the two mysteries and the past and present time. Towards the end I had my suspicion on who the antagonist was. Overall the story showed complexity and depth.
The author's writing style is a bit different and I can see why it might not be enjoyable for some, but it was a fun and refreshing reprieve from those that contain emotionally charged storylines.
Kinda reminds me of Forrest Gump but with a 100-year old man instead. It has a bit of humor in it. Curious how it will turn out.

I'm enjoying this book very much. Primarily, because the focus is on the victims' lives and experiences rather than on the infamous Jack the Ripper. Secondly, the added historical narrative of the era paints a clearer picture on how vulnerable these women must have been.
My sister got me this book as an early Mother's Day present. I couldn't even find it in the Litsy database. (The Octunnumi by Trevor Alan Foris)
So beautiful !

Check out the packaging. I've never seen a publisher included this much thought into their packaging.
Beautiful book and a nice graphic adaptation of some of his works.
Read this in less than a day. I got hooked the moment I started. Describes the story of a young deaf girl and how she struggles against discrimination and how she is countlessly misunderstood by the hearing community. I enjoyed this very much. I highly recommend it.
Love this series. I feel sad that it's over. It's not perfect but I enjoyed all the adventures and challenges Clare and Dorran endured. The series consisted of different elements including mystery, thriller, suspense, romance (clean), melancholy, humor, action, and drama. And compared to other apocalyptic stories, I was grateful that Darcy Coates included a solution with a hopeful note in the end.
