I picked this YA #vampire book from the library last weekend as the cover pulled me in. Hoping I will get to it during the month for #TeamMonsterMash 🧛🏻🧛🏻♀️🧛🏻♂️

4 stars- This was a fun read! While I found the “mystery“ element predictable since that wasn't the focus of the book it was still a really good book. I liked both the social commentary and the characters. I really was rooting for them! I did prefer the audio to the print, I switched around the 40% mark and I found it easier to get into, and easier to like Taylor, but that may also just have been the point I was at in the book.
Taking some time read and annotate Youngblood (I owe this book back to a friend).
So far, it's not great, and I'm finding the author is not considering most of the other ideas of vampires that have been printed over the years.
Kat and Taylor relationship remind me of Claire and Bender from The Breakfast Club.
I'm trudging through to give my friend a full thoughts in this story. #spooktober #YA #vampires
I really wanted to love this one. I mean, sapphic vampires at a prestigious vampire boarding school? Sign me up! But it fell a little flat for me. Some of the characters were annoyingly obtuse and I thought some of the really interesting worldbuilding wasn't fully done justice.
