This is the 7th book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. The focus of this book is on Rehvenge and Ehlena. In the first 14 chapters, we start with finding out that some of the glymera would like to see Wrath dead so the power would all be in their hands. Wrath is fighting again but most don't know including Beth. Ehlena is caring for her father mostly alone. They used to be part of the glymera but have fallen far. She works at Haver's clinic..

TheSpineView ...as a nurse. Xhex learns that one of her working girls was murdered by her boyfriend. She plans on hunting him down and killing him and she has Rehvenge's approval. We find out that Rehv has a code of ethics when it comes to his employees. Lash is in charge of the lessers and discovers that money is in short supply. He has a plan to recruit people to sell drugs to make money. Elena is Rehv's nurse when he goes to Havers for more dopamine. 1d
TheSpineView Rehv gives her his business card. Ehlena has a date after work but is stood up. She thinks it is for the best since she needs to concentrate on her father's care. Wrath comes clean about fighting with both Beth and the brothers. Beth is passed. The brothers are concerned about Wrath fighting, but their numbers are small. Phury is also going start to fighting again. @PageShifter @Laughterhp @julesG @ShananigansReads @DuckOfDoom @InkedBookworm13 1d
TheSpineView @tdrosebud @CoverToCoverGirl @StayCurious @BooksNBowls @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks. Some of my thoughts are: How will Wrath's lie by ommission their relationship? Since they are so short on brothers, how long will it be before Qhuinn, John and Blay are inducted in? 1d
julesG Nice typo. 😉 I get that Beth is pissed, because she's even more concerned than the brothers. She could lose a part of her. If I were in her shoes, I'd want to see him train with as many fighters as are willing to take him on. Just to know he's fit. But she might wonder what else he's not sharing and that means they need to talk it out. 1d
julesG The Brotherhood needs more manpower. Maybe even womanpower. I'm sure Q, J, B will soon join. 1d

“Almost everyone thought the man and the boy were father and son.“

tpixie I read this book when it first came out as a teenager. I absolutely loved it. But from then on until probably finally in my 30s 😂 when we got a big black lab, I had to always make sure all the windows & draperies were closed at night time so I would not see a vampire out my window!!! 🪟 🧛🏻‍♂️ 😱 3d
Bookwomble @tpixie The vampire at the window element of Salem's Lot always put me in mind of the story The Vampire of Croglin Grange - very spooky! 3d
tpixie @Bookwomble ohh! Dare I read that?! 2d

dabbe I'm in for a good scare, aren't I? 😱 2d
tpixie @dabbe yes! Although since you‘re an adult, you might do better than 14- 15-year-old me! 2d
tpixie @Bookwomble I found the vampire of croglin grange! https://gutenberg.net.au/ebooks06/0605661h.html (edited) 2d
dabbe @tpixie The 15-year old me who saw the original FRIDAY THE 13TH in the movie theater (so dating myself) still checks under her bed every night before she goes to bed. 😂 2d
tpixie @dabbe 🩵🩵🩵 I have to have at least a sheet over me- no matter how hot I am- a simple sheet can protect me from the bogeyman!! If it‘s off, he will come! And I never allow my feet or arms to hang over the bed! 😂 2d
dabbe @tpixie We are the best wimps, aren't we? 🩶🖤🩶 2d
tpixie @dabbe yes! We are!!! 🩵🪼🩵 2d
Bookwomble @tpixie Croglin Grange was first published in 1900 by an archdeacon, so it's not gory, but it is spooky. Nice find on Gutenberg 😊 I think it's only 5 or 6 pages, so should be a quick read 🧛‍♂️ 2d
ShyBookOwl On my tbr for YEARS 2d
tpixie @Bookwomble thanks!! 2d
dabbe @ShyBookOwl Me, too! I'm a bit terrified to read it! 😂 2d

I loved to get to know more about V's past, and I really loved Jane who was smart and sassy. There were also so many scenes showing what happened to other characters in the series and there is still so much coming!

I am not 100 % what I think about the ending and things that happened there. But this was a compelling read.

Decided to start a reread of the chronicles. Then decided it is to be a chronological readthrough of Rice's work. I dunno, I'm just here for the atmosphere.

Forever obsessed with these two idiots though. This is probably my fifth time reading this one. It's interesting though because I haven't picked it up in years and I noticed that I was placing plotpoints from the film into my memories of the novel when they just aren't there.

SpeculativeFemale I always remember discovering these as a teenager. They were formative reading for me! 1w
everlocalwest @SpeculativeFemale literally same! I remember finding my original copy of Interview in a secondhand bookshop at like 14. 1w
