I wouldn‘t personally say it was an retelling… there is a genie, wishes, and a girl that is a romantic interest but that‘s kind of stretching the similarities!

After being given a ring that allows him to summon a jinn, Bax discovers that while some wishes need to be spoken, stronger jinn can make all your subconscious dreams come true. If you can stomach the methods!
