Well, I accomplished half of my goal - I finished The Forbidden Wish by Jessica Khoury! I also made good progress on The Cartographers by Peng Shepherd and started Uprooted by Naomi Novik. Only reading 2 books at a time is working for me right now.

This is my #FairytaleReadingChallenge #Aladdin pick from a goodreads list.

I wouldn‘t personally say it was an retelling… there is a genie, wishes, and a girl that is a romantic interest but that‘s kind of stretching the similarities!

After being given a ring that allows him to summon a jinn, Bax discovers that while some wishes need to be spoken, stronger jinn can make all your subconscious dreams come true. If you can stomach the methods!

My #Aladdin pick for the #FairytaleReadingChallenge. This wasn‘t my favorite collection of tales but I‘m glad I finally got around to reading it. This edition is nicely illustrated. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was alright. Most of the dialogue is exactly like the Disney movie. Which makes it drag sometimes and other times brings joyful nostalgia. It was nice to see a different take to Aladdin.

This finished off my #20in4 at around 10 hours.
I did read well over 20 chapters though and finished the 2 book I wanted (tagged and cobra event).

This was an #Aladdin retelling for October‘s #FairytaleReadingChallenge :)

It was a great retelling. Jinni, the gifted, an evil man with the gift of persuasion, a group of thieves. I might read the rest of this series at some point. This ended in a cliff hanger and I hope to revisit these characters!

Andrew65 Brilliant 👏👏👏🙌🥳🍾🥂😍👍😊 Thanks for playing along.A colourful cover. 10mo

I keep seeing not so great reviews but you know what? I love a fairy tale retelling in any sense so I'm going to read this and love it most likely.

This was a fun retelling of Aladdin. There are strong heroines, a sweet love story, and magic.
The book is from the jinni's point of view and I quite enjoyed how the author told the jinni's thoughts.

The plot moved along quickly and it did seem a bit rushed at points. It is a stand alone so while it could have been fleshed out more, I have been in the mood for one offs and not being tied to a series.
