Mehso-so

Not as much fun as the other transatlantic cruise book I just read!
The author was a journalist, fiction writer and Sherlock Holmes enthusiast, so I had high hopes for this ocean-based mystery (especially since the back blurb mentioned “humorous.”) However, the plot, writing, and dialogue struck me as amateurish, and the classist tones overshadowed the little enjoyment I had in reading it.

batsy That's a bummer! These editions have such cute covers, though 🙂 2y
mabell @Librarybelle It was worth a try! I‘m always on the lookout for a “forgotten gem” mystery 😊 2y
mabell @batsy Yep, I was completely sucked in by the cover 😆 The was the first American Classics mystery I‘ve come across! 2y
