pickI grew up watching reruns of the show Murder, She Wrote, so when I found this book, I was sold. The main character is Jessica Fletcher‘s great niece, and she writes anonymously for a crime blog. I would say it‘s in the vein of A Good Girl‘s Guide to Murder, but maybe more believable? Not quite as addictive, but I still really enjoyed it! Pleasantly surprised!

However, her great niece is the new resident writer and mystery solver. Beatrice Fletcher lives in Maine in a town that is part residents and part elite boarding school. Beatrice spends her spare time writing for a true crime website all about local stories of the state of Maine.
so-soI had hoped to like this one more than I did. The ending did not answer all of my questions, and though it is a set up for the next installment, it just felt so flat to me. I like the take on a YA version of Murder, She Wrote, featuring a high school student who is related to the Jessica Fletcher. It does make me want to read more books featuring Jessica Fletcher to get my OG fix! 😂
pickA blast of a book, with entertaining characters, an twisty little mystery, and just enough nostalgia to make it enjoyable. The author‘s portrayal of a teen with severe anxiety really hit home, as the mom of a similar teen. I thought it was particularly sensitively handled and well done. A short read, just right for a short trip!
Liberated from an airport bookshop because I just couldn‘t resist…wonder if the 3 hours I have left on layover is enough to finish it😂
