My last book attempt was a dud, so I guess I‘ll try this one instead!
My last book attempt was a dud, so I guess I‘ll try this one instead!
I HATE bailing on books, but I have way too many books begging to be read to keep trying to plow through something so boring. I absolutely hate that half of this story is told in footnotes. I find it incredibly disruptive to the flow. I had high hopes for this one, but alas, it‘s not for me.
A decent story, but I wasn‘t blown away. I had to kind of trudge through the old-time British slang, which slowed me down a bit….
I‘ve never read a “cozy mystery” before, but I believe this would fall into that category. I really enjoyed it! I would certainly continue this series!
The author is described as the Jordan Peele of horror literature…this is very accurate. This story was a bit slow for me, and I didn‘t love the writing style. I think it would make an excellent movie, though.
Didn‘t realize my next read was going to start in my home state!
This was a nice light read with some warm fuzzies. I enjoyed it, but I didn‘t love it.
This is a very different direction than my last read…with far less pages.
Well, I didn‘t think 21 days would be enough, but I guess I didn‘t even need 2 weeks🤷🏻♀️. Another good book in the series. I‘m thinking this is the last one…?
Now, explain to me how the library thinks I‘m going to finish over 1,000 pages in 21 days?!
I wanted to read this book before the movie came out. Overall, I enjoyed it, but Sophie‘s character may be the most frustratingly shallow person of all time. I realize this is likely very intentional.
I really enjoyed the writing, but the story moved a little slow for me. It may have been my fault, because I read two other books while reading this one, but I think the pace could have been picked up a bit. It was also a much heavier book than I anticipated, so I‘ll need to find something a bit lighter next!
Started this a few days ago! I‘ve heard good things, and so far, I am enjoying it.
I finished this like a week ago, and honestly, it was not very good at all. The storyline was a bit absurd in my opinion, and I found none of the characters likable.
The final book in this trilogy became available…looking like another quick read!
I finished this one last weekend, and I enjoyed it. I think it would make a good movie!
Finished this quick read last night! I enjoyed it! Not a fan of this Aspen character, though…
Another super hyped up book that just felt average to me. The first 100+ pages were VERY slow moving…at least the view from my hammock was good!
Well, I‘ve started this one, and I‘m afraid it‘ll be another popular book that doesn‘t live up to the hype for me. Fingers crossed!
I have read the first 2 books in this series as they become available at the library. It‘s a very shallow series, but they are quick reads, and I‘m still enjoying them. I don‘t find Belly (or Conrad) to be particularly likable characters, but I‘m interested to see where this goes.
This book was ok. It was a bit slow-moving at times. I could see this being an overall decent series, but I‘m not sure I‘ll continue. I‘ve got too many other books I‘d rather read!
The other book I started reading has been slow moving, so I have been reading this one, as well. I liked it! I semi-guessed what was going on, but it was still enjoyable!
Well, I finally finished it. It took about halfway through the book to get interesting, and I felt the ending a bit cheesy? Maybe? The writing was far too frilly for my taste, however, the story itself (once it picked up, of course) had me gripped. I‘d say it‘s between pick and so-so.
I got this in the mail and decided to give it a quick read. I‘m not a graphic novel fan, but I LOVED the Netflix show so much, that I decided to give it a shot. It is such a heartwarming story, but I‘m definitely still not a graphic novel fan🤷🏻♀️
This one took me awhile due to time restraints. However, I did enjoy it…bring on the next one, please!
Excited to start this one! Let‘s go!
This book was was a borderline pick…it was a very quick and straightforward storyline, with very frustrating truths about how “inconvenient” women were just thrown into asylums.
Rainy day while camping means we‘re stuck inside…and, yes, our 70 lb American pit bull terrier just HAD to sit in my lap.
So good…I was starting to feel like I wasn‘t able to find any books to get sucked into…this one did it!
Only 45 pages in, and this is already 1,000 times better than my last read. Let‘s gooooooo!! Also, ignore the target sticker…it was very resistant to being removed. I need to get after it with the blow dryer.
Do I already own a second hand paperback copy of this book? Yes. Have I ever read it? No. But I LOVED Anne with an E and I have been jonesing for this lovely copy at my favorite coffee shop. I caved.
This was a very slow moving book, and nothing really happened until the end. Overall, this book bored me. I just wanted it to end.
I ran out of shelf space (again), so I stained some cheap crates and glued them together. Done.
I paused this book multiple times to read library holds. It did not live up to the hype for me, but I can see why others have liked it so much.
This was probably my favorite book in the series so far. The writing is still not excellent, but I prefer her writing from cassias and Nesta‘s point of view.
This felt like a filler book…nothing really happened. I‘m excited for the next book. I‘m very interested in Nesta‘s story.
My library hold became available yesterday, so The Midnight Library is on pause. Here we go!
