Starting to feel like Tom Taylor is the guy you call if you need to inject some light and hope into a superhero storyline. Dick Grayson is generally more cheerful and chatty than other members of the Bat family, but I haven't explored much of Nightwing in Blüdhaven in comics and I'm glad to see a corrupt city cast in Taylor's upbeat 'things can change' framing. Bruno Redondo's art really emphasises the humour, action and heart.

Robotswithpersonality 2/2 Storygraph insists I've read this before, (surprised I don't remember considering how much fun I had reading it this time) but that was back before I made a habit of following up with future volumes. I will definitely be doing so now! 3w

While I will forever adore sassy Alfred, supportive guardian Alfred is also a fave. 🥹♥️

Heartless is a great example of how literal comic book storytelling can be: what if some dude was stealing people's hearts? Blockbuster is a Kingpin knockoff, but it's a good idea for Nightwing to work with the mayor to bring down organized crime from the inside. I definitely teared up at something Bruce tells Dick.

Bruno Redondo's art has serious flair. He uses vertical panels in really inventive ways. Adriano Lucas finds the perfect shades of blue, pink, and orange that make "leaping into the light" more than just a name. Taylor's writing is good, though sometimes he pushes too hard for a joke. I love Dick & Babs' blossoming romance.
