The Christmas Tree Murders
The Christmas Tree Murders: A 1920s Cosy Mystery (A Camille Divine Murder Mystery Book 1 | Andrea Hicks
6 posts | 2 read | 5 to read
The Christmas trees in Knightsbridge sparkle with festive joy, and there's nothing more fun than Christmas cocktail parties to ring in the new year of 1922. Camille Divine, known as Lady Camille Divine, has decorated her little house in Birdcage Mews with glistening decorations and a beautiful Christmas tree, but she has more on her mind than the festive season. Women are disappearing off the street, and Lady Phoebe Carruthers has begged Camille to investigate when her personal maid goes missing. Something links the women who have vanished, and when a body is discovered, Camille is determined to find out what the connection is before another woman is murdered. A novel in the 99 Nightingale Lane Publishing series.

This evening‘s reading. Generally, I don‘t read Christmas books after Christmas, but I thought I‘d check this one out. I also love the cover.

Pickpick

A soft pick, I quite enjoyed the progression of this cosy crime novel. With Camille Devine being a female amateur sleuth in the 1920s, it tempting to make comparisons with Phryne Fisher, but I don‘t think the author intends Camille to be another Phryne. Not much of a link to Christmas though, so disappointing as a seasonal read!

11th finish in the #WinterReadathon

Andrew65 Amazing how many books mention Christmas in the title but have little or no link to Christmas.
A good review and wi/ll be keeping an eye out for the book.

TheEllieMo @Andrew65 yes, we‘re told that a series of murder victims were left under various Christmas trees in landmark locations in London, but the reason is never explained! 1y
