This was an interesting and quiet read set in South Korea. Nothing much happens but I just loved it. The MC is a French -Korean woman who works receptionist in a guesthouse and a foreigner arrives and adds a bit of excitement to her life. She ends up showing him around the area.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Admittedly, I bought this for the gorgeous cover! This debut novel from French Korean Dusapin is a brief translated work depicting Korean life in an off-season tourist town. Our unnamed narrator becomes fascinated with a Frenchman staying in the guesthouse she runs. They visit touristy sights together. They‘re both artists, though she feels trapped into Korean cultural norms. My favorite scenes were with her fishmonger mother.
