pickI FINALLY finished this book! I started it about this time 2023 on audio, and then life got in the way of me finishing it then. I bought the Kindle version earlier this year when it was on a great sale, and got around to reading it. I loved being back in Joshi's world, this time following Radha's story (don't worry, Malik and Lakshmi are there too)!

pickA great ending to this feel good trilogy. I enjoyed the descriptions of smells and feelings, it reminded me of the book The Scent Keeper. Parts felt repetitive, as in readers are repeatedly told the same information about characters from the first two books. This would probably be nice if you were picking this book up first, but I found it tiresome. Overall, still a pick!
pickI love a writer who researches the hell out of anything and then weaves it in without making it feel like reading Wikipedia. Joshi just throws little tidbits into the narrative in such a seamless way!
I didn‘t think Radha‘s story was going to be for me. But I loved the whole perfume aspect, which I was really wary about going in. The epilogue was a little saccharine but I think Joshi was just clearly marking the end of these stories.
pickThird in the series! I think it‘s ⬆️ than the 2nd one, but still ⬇️ than the 1st one. The setting is very nice, taking place between France and India. I definitely learned a lot about perfume and scents! I think the only thing for me is that it could have been shorter. It felt like the plot dragged out a little bit. But I‘m glad I completed the series!
pickI loved the themes of the book. I loved the setting as well. I like being able to catch up with the characters I had already come to know in her previous 2. I thought the long chapters and pacing interfered with the feeling of getting properly immersed. That's just a personal preference.
pickThis is a perfectly enjoyable third addition to this series. Radha is navigating family life and trying to have a successful career. The Henna Artist was epic. This was really good also. I would not read it alone. You sort of need the backstory.

pickBest read in order for full character development, setting, and timeline it's historical but with so much I could relate to in how far humans still need to go to see men & women as equals. This story takes place in Paris & India in the 1970s and yet so many of themes and internal dialog remains profoundly realistic 50+ years later. Cast of characters is extremely helpful for quick reference.
pickExcellent! I love the passion that Radha feels for her work. Her quest for finding meaning in her life makes me want to go to Europe and travel.
pickAn absolutely stunning third book in this series. I love it so 💕 the Paris and Agra settings, the science of perfume, the family stories… so great

pickThis is the final book in the trilogy that started with “The Henna Artist“ and I am sad to say goodbye to it. The series is filled with strong female characters and this book takes you into the fascinating world of perfume making. It is both a compelling story about the role of women in 1974 in both France and India and a wonderful tribute to women. I really enjoyed it and am sure I will be thinking of the power of scent for days. 4.5/5 stars.
