panI was disappointed in this 1992 serial killer/police thriller, mostly because the cover endorsement name drops “The Silence of the Lambs” and this novel is not remotely in the same class. For genre fans it has a few eerie moments, but the procedural aspects are nonexistent and the character development is a bucket of cliches. It‘s the first in a four-book series so maybe the sequels are better. I think I‘m one and done though.
