Book 2 in the Minka Lesk series. Cadia, ten thousand years a stalwart bastion against Chaos, is broken. Its collapse at the hands of Abaddon and the Thirteenth Black Crusade has fractured the Imperium of Man, and in its wake spreads the seeds of heresy, lies and insurrection. It falls to Cadias survivors to fight on, bloodied but unyielding, in the name of the Emperor. On the world of Malouri, traitorous forces have retreated to the impregnable island fortress of Crannog Mons. After years of stalemate warfare, the task of breaking the siege is given to Minka Lesk and the Cadian 101st, who find themselves fighting a meat-grinder mission that threatens to devour them. In the midst of slaughter, sacrifice and brutal attrition, a question must be answered: What does it mean to be Cadian in a galaxy without Cadia?

Bookish Song Nr 54: Dance Till' We Die

Ain't nobody gonna leave this place alive
We never should have come here alone
I can hear them screaming we're a long, long way from home
It's a shame but I believe they're not gonna let us leave
And we'll never make it out on our own
We wrote our names in stone
And tonight's too late
We're gonna move til we die on this dance floor baby

My #BookoftheMonth was once again hard to choose, since November has been a month filled with great books. I've got a 5 star book (“Body Positive Power“), but this one was too strong as that I could count it. Those books go on a separate list I will post at the end of the year.

So the prize goes to Traitor Rock, the book that brought me back to reading after my terrible cold.

Pickpick

Don't you just love finding gems in your TBR shelves? This book found me reading breathless, always returning into the story, whenever I had to pause. What a great book to kick off after days without reading at all! ❤️
