Her turf is the city of St. Louis. Her job: U.S. MarshalPreternatural Branch. Shes faced horrifying monsters and brutal killers and come out the other side still standing. Considering how things in her life tend to go, Anita never expected her walk down the aisle with Jean-Claude to go smoothly. Theyve already been confronted with naysayers and a power-hungry ancient evil, but now Anita has to do the one thing that actually scares her: introduce her very religious, very human relatives to her fiancthe newly crowned vampire king of America. As Anita tries to keep the peace between the family she left behind and the family shes chosen, dark forces jump at the chance to take advantage of the chaos. Mehso-so

It‘s really apparent that Smolder & Slay could have been 1 Book & with proper editing it could have been a good book. There more action in this one (it doesn‘t all 100% make sense) complete lack of 🍆 but the first 100 pages is essentially angst and a 5 minute argument rehashed to infinity. It also had a lot of Nicky who is my favorite Bride, so that was good.

I truly wish my brain encouraged me to DNF things. Nothing has happened in this book, we had and rehashed the same argument for 99 pages. 😂🙃
Get me to the magic! Get me to the murder! Stop talking about Jean-Claude‘s pajamas! Stop talking about your shoes! Also I think she forgot why she was scared of flying?

Not a great pic, but this came today! Of course I‘m already a few chapters in, i know it‘s trashy but I just can‘t help reading them🧛🏻‍♂️❤️‍🔥🖤❤️ The 30th Anita Blake novel in 30yrs, I‘ve been a total sucker for them from the beginning. Jean-Claude is just so gorgeous! And I love Anita‘s take no shit attitude. And her knives🔪

thegirlwiththelibrarybag Wow - you‘ve got staying power! Truely a series that‘s a lifetime companion! 13mo

I was so excited for Iron Flame that I forgot this nonsense came out today.
Oh I don‘t seem hyped about it? I am so over Anita Blake series. Why did I preorder it then? HOW DO YOU STOP READING A SERIES 30 BOOKS IN? Actually, That‘s not rhetorical. If anyone knows the key, please advise 😂
