I love books that have half a step into the weirder world right beside our own, and Angela Slatter does it seamlessly. And underneath, a clever mystery with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. A vastly entertaining read, and I‘ll definitely keep an eye out for more in the series…

There are lots of books I've read with one word titles, but this is a more recent one Ive read. It's about a private investigator but for the supernatural. I really enjoyed it, I found it refreshingly different from the usual books I read.

pickAngela Slatter's debut novel is an urban fantasy which mixes fairytales and mythology to excellent effect. I was delighted to find out it was set in Brisbane, especially since I visited the city recently. Although the book had its flaws, I found it dark but fun.
