Rush Me | Allison Parr

When post-grad Rachael Hamilton accidentally gate-crashes a pro-athlete party, she ends up face-to-face with Ryan Carter, the NFL's most beloved quarterback. While most girls would be thrilled to meet the attractive young millionaire, Rachael would rather spend time with books than at sporting events, and she has more important things to worry about than romance. Like her parents pressuring her to leave her unpaid publishing internship for law school. But when Ryan's rookie teammate attaches himself to Rachael, she ends up cohosting Friday-night dinners for half a dozen football players. Over pancake brunches, charity galas and Alexander the Great, Rachael realizes all the judgments she'd made about Ryan are wrong. But how can a Midwestern Irish-Catholic jock with commitment problems and an artsy, gun-shy Jewish New Englander ever forge a partnership? Rachael must let down her barriers if she wants real love—even if that opens her up to pain that could send her back into her emotional shell forever. 89,000 words

Today‘s theme for #RomBkLove is groveling. I LOVE a good grovel or maybe just a really good make-up scene. Over on Twitter a challenge came up for the heroine as the groveler and as I was scrolling through my books this one hit me. After they have a huge blow up where they both say things they regret, she woman‘s up and gets a press pass to the locker room after one of his games to plead her case. #swoon

Brace yourselves, fellow Littens, because I'm going to start posting all of my #februaryisforromantsy #romantsy reads, including a lot of re-reads (like this one). Rush Me is a debut novel from Allison Parr, I heard about it from her editor, the lovely Angela James, whose career I've followed for years and is total #goals I'm not sure Allison has anything new coming up, but her NY Leopards trilogy is great! #meghanreadsromantsy

@MarriedtoMrT recommended this book and I loved it! The heroine is a publishing intern who knows nothing about football & meets a star quarterback--who goes into shock when she truly doesn't want to go out with him. I loved the snappy dialogue and the hero's surprise! #romantsy

Angieville I love this one so much. 7y
MarriedtoMrT I'm so glad you liked it! Love the dialogue. I re-read the picnic in the park scene, right after their major kerfuffle, often. Over and over. 7y
Chachic I thought this was a good one too. 7y
