Finding Mr. Write | Kelley Armstrong

#1 New York Times bestselling author Kelley Armstrong delivers a fun romantic comedy about a woman writing under a male pseudonym and the man she hires to play the role in public. Daphne McFadden already knows that as a female author, the cards are stacked against her. Now she knows just how much. Because her sudden whim to pose as an outdoorsy hunk of masculinity male author for her new book just resulted in the unthinkable: a bidding war, a huge book deal, and the kind of fame every author dreams of. Now shes in big trouble. Because she needs to convince the world that Zane Remington actually exists . . . but how? By hiring an actor, of course. Only Chris Stanton is not an actornot officially. Hes used to balancing the books, not pretending he wrote one. Still, hes mostly certain he can pose as some overly macho bro-author. But when the media descend on Daphnes gorgeous remote home in the Yukon, its not enough for Chris to just be the face of Zane Remingtonhell have to become him. All while hilariously balancing the terrifying dangers of the wilderness, a massive femme fandom, and a serious crush on Daphne. But as the hype circus gets more out of control, its just a matter of time before someone discovers their little write lie . . .

#ReadAway2024 #ForTheLoveOfBooks

I read this one via library ebook & put it on my hold list based on the author who I love for her Rockton & Haven‘s Rock series. This is Armstrong‘s first foray into romance & it is an overall good rom-com about an author who comes up with a male non de plume to get her first novel published & has to hire someone to play him for publicity & gets in deep when the book takes off. Rather than the arrogant actor ⬇️

DebinHawaii … she thinks she‘s hiring, it‘s a sexy, sweet accountant getting out of a legal/financial jam. While I still prefer the author‘s other books & genres, I did like the main characters of Daphne & Chris, the glimpses inside the publishing world & the fact that she kept her Yukon setting so it gets a pick. 2mo

A new week, another trip to Hilo.
Started this library e-book. Romance is a departure for Kelley Armstrong so we‘ll see, but it‘s cute so far.

PuddleJumper Huh, that's interesting. I've only seen the urban fantasy books she wrote 3mo

I'm proclaiming this my favourite book of 2024 - Exactly 6 months into the year. Kelley Armstrong has been my favourite author for any number of years because of the way she writes full and beleivable characters, even in unbelievable situations. This one is a rom-com, which is new for her, but it definitely did not disappoint. The characters are still great, and the situation was almost entirely realistic to me. Drfinitely recommend. #37-2024

A debut novelist has trouble finding a publisher for her YA zombie novel until she attributes her work to a masculine pseudonym. Daphne hires someone to play the author on the book tour and they fall for each other. I really had a good time with this one - both Daphne and Chris were sweet and good together. Loved the Canadian settings too! #netgalley

Sace Sounds cute! 6mo
