#AllTheWorldsAStage #FeistyFeb another Gayle Forman set works for this prompt (at least my interpretation). The two novels and short story take place all over the world and the male MC is an actor who performs Shakespeare's plays with a troupe. Not as good as If I Stay but there was some non-romantic, relationship development in the first novel that I really enjoyed.
