Another ritual underway this morning - canning turkey broth. 🦃 Listening to Children of Jocasta. 🎧

I read the Natl. Center for Home Food Preservation didn‘t receive funding from 2015-2022 and only recently limited funding for fermented foods research. 😒 I‘d love more USDA tested canning recipes.

sarahbarnes I was just thinking about home canning this week and how I‘d like to know how to do it safely. My grandmothers did it when I was young but it skipped a generation with my parents and I know very little about how to do it. 2w
Tamra @sarahbarnes same here re: skipping a generation! I suspect the decline parallels the boon in ready made foods. Here is the Natl. Center‘s website https://nchfp.uga.edu/ and the Guide is also free online on the same site https://nchfp.uga.edu/resources/category/usda-guide (edited) 2w
Daisey I had to come see if you shared about what you were canning today. I only ever canned fruit and vegetables growing up with my family, but recently I‘ve become interested in canning more things just to have on hand without using my limited freezer space. I also plan to make turkey broth next week. 2w
Tamra @Daisey I don‘t have freezer space either.👍🏾 For me, home canned broth is as good as having gold! 😊 2w
sarahbarnes Thank you!! I‘m going to check this out. 2w
