Mehso-so

I liked the premise of this book but could not stand either MC. Jae was extremely unprofessional and didn‘t do a whole lot in the book to redeem himself. Nami did not act like a 30 year old business owner. I did not enjoy their competitiveness or banter. I liked the overall story and world but… what do you do when you hate the people you‘re supposed to be rooting for?!

I see what the author did there. The company buying up all the other companies is called Rainforest…

It took me a minute.

Ruthiella I used to listen to a bookish podcast where they would always refer to Amazon as “The River” and it confounded me longer than I like to admit as to what they meant! 😂 3mo

This was a fun read! I loved Nami and Jae, but I especially loved their family and friends.

Sure you know exactly how everything is going to play out from the very first page but that‘s okay because the pace is good, the banter snappy, & the story—former high school nemeses meet in an enemies to lovers story centered around the takeover of a tech company in Chicago—entertaining. I laughed out loud more than once and enjoyed this one.

If you liked Love Interest by C. Gilmore, then this needs to be on your tbr! Nami & Jae are high school rivals who reunite when Jae‘s company Rainforest (read: Amazon) looks to acquire Toggle, Nami‘s tech startup that is struggling. Jae represents big corporation & everything Nami doesn‘t want for her family-like business, & while she‘s determined to stop her partners from selling, she can‘t help reengaging with Jae. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Kristy_K Enemies-to-lovers is probably my favorite romance trope and this one is great. Both Nami and Jae toe the line of insults and flirting and they soon fall for each other. Nami was a strong, intelligent, woman with great convictions. Jae was a confident, smart man who had a humorous side that made me laugh. Together their chemistry was so fun to read. 1y
