I don't want to give this too much of a hard time because it's mostly fine. All the ingredients were there, but the overall result was a little bland. It's set in the early 70's when London was swinging and that seeps in here and there, but the style felt very old-fashioned. Worst of all are a couple of toxic relationships, where borderline DV is treated as romantic.

I‘ve really really enjoyed this short subscription to the British Library Crime Classics. Every month you get the newest released book in the series and I love the little extras they pop in. 👍🏼
